The Dusky Azure is found in rich deciduous forests throughout the Appalachians and parts of the Midwest. This species is closely related to the Spring Azure, and like its relative, the males lack androconia scales on their wings. Male Dusky Azures are especially distinctive, appearing as a uniform dark gray without the pale blue coloration typical of most other azure species.
